......the adventure of little thirkleby

sir stephen, his maiden christine and prince luke of nagsfold ventured in their trusty stead aitch-ar-vee to little thirkleby where they came upon prince tony, his maiden dawn, and princess charlotte of wark. they supped of ales made from apples and pears and ate heartily late into the eve and the next day they embarked on a serious of challenges to test them to their very limit before that first quest known only as "marathon".

first they set forth with only their feet to carry them onwards crossing fields and dales for more than 4 miles. they then plunged themselves into the icy waters that lay at little thirkleby and swam several lengths of the pool there before much back slapping and hearty talk in the room they came to know as "sauna". Their final challenge to play upon the earth with strung rackets and balls with nothing but a net between them. the one securing the most points being the victor. the point of these exertions remains unclear but much bonding was embarked upon and the knights sir tony and sir stephen felt ready for their quest. they parted while the sun was still upon the clear sky vowing to meet again this saturday to journey north to begin the great quest. but not before the played of that great sport football with sir stephen and luke of nagsfold being bravely defeated by sir tony and princess charlotte of wark. much celebration was upon their heads when goals were scored.
