....its the end of same old same old

its just been "same old same old" on the exercise front and its going to change. it starts today! hit the weights with a varied routine with some supersets of bench presses and dumbbell flyes, and squats and lunges alongside a good selection of exercises hitting the full body. the gut has got to go.... simply has got to go....

i'm not so bothered about the weight you know... there was a guy pictured in this months mens health who was 15st 11 and he was awesome... absolutely solid.... i need to strip the fat and pile on muscle.... i reckon i can probably do one of two things... exercise like i have been and cut down on the portion sizes or mix up and increase the exercise while eating the same.... i reckon the second one is my option.... but i have to keep the diet at least 95% good with the very occasional treat......

it's well noted that weight loss is better encouraged with short intense workouts rather than long steady ones... this is the likely reason why i've lost no weight when training for the marathon. me and tony have discussed the lykewake walk and have knocked it on the head. we're going to look for something else that's a bit more picturesque and circular rather than place to place so we can just take one car. there are so many walks out there why just do the same one loads of times.... and we feel the same about the coast to coast... it's still a beautiful ride and i'm sure i'll do it again but we need to look for another route.... we like the idea of the coasts and castles which i've done before but many years ago.....

i feel quite invigorated again... and this is the first time since the marathon that i have felt really motivated to exercise so i must be over the worst

more weights, find my squash racket, going to go to the climbing wall and give that a go... going to put the fun back into exercise!
