thursday saw myself and alex meet assorted millers and friends of millers in a bar in newcastle to see the post rock outfit vessels play..... they get better and better you know... there's an intensity, a professionalism, and i feel a more relaxed presentation about them. they appear more relaxed as a band and more relaxed on stage..... this "relaxed" thing seems to mean they can be more intense and focussed.... the two bands before them were good but "championship" standard against vessels "premiership" standard. miller was in good form and talked incessantly fueled by alcohol. the whole night was all very cool if a little bit of a late one. good in car banter on the way home between me alex and paul... paul tells us the crystal maze has finally gone........
