....no carbs

....right the idea is (i have all of this on good authority!) to burn fat and conserve muscle you go on a short term low carbohydrate (or even no carbohydrates) diet. Replacing the carbs with good quality protein. so i've started today..... i'm told it works like this... your muscles just lurve protein so by eating and uping your protein you don't lose muscle mass. you get your energy from glycogen and the best way for your body to get this is from carbs... and if there are no carbs the next option is fat and muscle - but as your uping the protein it comes predominantly from stored fat .....ergo weight loss! the down side is low energy levels.... will keep you posted.....
