.....viva las vegas
......there will be pictures later but for now its just my words.
TUESDAY the flight was fine... well as fine as 11 hours on aplan can be but i was entertained by the woman sat next to me who had been visiting relatives in scotland and was now heading home to (somewhere near las vegas). she told me all about her husband who had died some years back and her family. she had moved out to the u.s. to be near her daughter who had moved out in the nineties. arrived in the gambling capital of the world and it does impress. tony was laughing at me cos i was walking around with my bottom jaw on the ground amazed by the sheer scale of the whole thing!! sat by the pool listening to altered beast and yuki and it all felt very surreal. and what was amazing in the daylight became jaw droppingly awesome when they turned the sun off! the fountains at the bellagio, the statue of liberty at new york new york! simply incredible.... nearly as good as the real thing lol!!
WEDNESDAY (some of this may be in the wrong order cos it's all a bit of a blur!!) we walked for ever it seemed but we did cover france (paris) and venice (the venitian) sitting in st marks sqare drinking italian coffee and eating italian cheeses was incredible as was playing blackjack in the bellagio and winning!! spent the afternoon in the fabulous gym/spa and then a big steak on the night.
THURSDAY saw us head out on a six seater plane (very stomach churning) to the grand canyon! words escape me. the sheer grandeur of nature exposed. the helicopter ride (which was the bit i feared!!) was stupendous. could have lived without the boat trip, but still all very very special. as was sitting having our buffet meal about 12 feet from the edge of the rim of the grand canyon - a vertical drop that we were told would take 30 seconds to hit the ground if we fell over. then a particularly sweet moment was being in the hotel room cos the boys had headed out clubbing watching 3 episodes of friends! just like being at home!! lol!! and last night i lost...... well i'm not going to tell you..... but the roulette, poker, and machines were lots of fun!!
