.....where is the flambouyancy?

...out last night in durham with tony .....doesn't the market square look great ....the light canopy is sheer genius!
....i found the complete lack of dressing up on the part of the blokes that were out quite disappointing ...the best on offer was a parade of blue/black jumpers with plain shirts underneath. and this wasn't just the old fellas (like me! - who had on a beige and green flowery shirt!!) [christine has just interjected with "aren't flowery shirts just for the summer" and my response "no!! flowery shirts are utterly cool at any time of year!" ...discuss] ..it was also the young dudes, or alleged dudes who clearly were not dudeish enough to have dressed up ....it's a concern .. a quick bit of research on the next (center of all things fashion!) web site seems to indicate that this is in fact the in "look". so i'm perplexed ....i can't be out of fashion surely! moi! surely not .....or, as all the best people do, i have my own undefinable style!

....or maybe i'm just getting on a bit ....actually for the first time ever i think i'm feeling my age ...but this is fine ....you know realistically i'm (probably) at least half way through my life [ponders thoughtfully] i feel i have achieved much but also feel i still have much to achieve. this is a nice place to be .....happy with where i've been but still striving to get somewhere. .....and for now the somewhere i need to get to is grandma and granddad's with the boys ....sometimes the practicalities of life just get in the way of blogging and thinking and thinking and blogging and blogging and thinking and thinking and blogging.......
