no line on the horizon

the day after i took this stunning sunset from my house the new u2 album arrived in my itunes. no line on the horizon.
it was downloaded by about 9 a.m. and at 10 p.m. the opportunity and the desire arrived together to invite me to press play.

they have learned much and forgotten nothing
this is the best thing they have done in a long while.... probably since achtung baby
the last couple of albums have been pedestrian, functional, a band who knew what they were doing and played safe so as to make sure they delivered.
not here.... creative, naughty, inventive, sprawling, anthemic, intimate and utterly charming....
i am a fan again..... i have been born again....
bono said that achtung baby was the sound of four men chopping down the joshua tree
horizon put the mistakes of the past firmly there... and buries them in the past....

u2 remain relevant

.....and i've made no secret of it that i don't like "boots" but in the context of the album it works beautiful

listening to "no line on the horizon" by u2
