......oh how i neglect you :-(

i've eaten some meat today... the first time since january... why? well..... about a couple of weeks after i stopped eating meat without warning and without any antecedents ....i didn't over do anything, i didn't get back from a run and feel anything.... i developed incredible pain down the inside of both of my knees and they just won't get better. in fact i'm now in considerable pain just walking on them. i've done heat to promote healing, i've stopped running, in fact have stopped exercising all together which means my weight has gone well up (not happy). it may just be coincidence but i feel i need to try it out. has not eating meat had a negative effect on me. the initial benefits to my bowels (...sorry..!!) have disappeared and i've felt lousy for a couple of weeks. i can't really say what this is down to. the feeling lousy could be that i'm in pain and haven't exercised. the bowel problems could be the lack of exercise as well. exercise has a positive effect on bowel activity for us all. it's just that it's the only major thing that i've changed.... and as it's not an ethical stance i feel it's worth eating meat for a while again to see if it is the cause. in my heart of heart i don't think it will be but worth eliminating it i feel.....
other meanderings....
pete bought me 'n' christine "house" the first series for christmas and we are watching them. we're up to dvd 3 and i'm loving it. never mind the show the bloody theme music is incredible! the show is fab. hugh laurie is wonderful. if all you've ever seen him in is comedy (and he is fab in black adder) then you need to see this show. he comes out with some great stuff that really makes you think.....
"you can live with dignity, you can't die with it"
"the truth begins in lies"
and my favourite
"as the philosopher jagger said 'you can't always get what you want'"
and you read about occam's razor cos it's the principle he works to. fascinating!
been reading obama's 'the audacity of hope'
and i like his description of empathy
"think 'how would i feel if that was said or done to me'"
an excellent starting point for thinking about how to treat other people
