....small ....medium ....and large

yesterday we had a blast cycling in the forest at drumlanrig castle. we headed off on the blue route which should have been fairly easy but it was a definite mountain bike route rather than a track route and it was a bit scary and hilly for christine who to be fair did very very well considering she's a holiday cyclist. but on she went and did a top job of getting round. the boys periodically headed off onto the red routes and for the first time in a long time i found my feet (or my peddles, i guess) on the rocky, rooty, twisty, turny, down hill, uphill, single track, technical bits...... handy considering i've just spent 1k on a hybrid no suspension road bike!! but hey the gt is still an excellent off road bike. so i'm going to head to hamsterley and try their red route when i get a chance 'cos i'm well up for a bit of falling off now!

today we went for a walk to see the glenkiln sculptures... some of which are by henry moore. it was a lovely walk... just enough after the strenuous cycling of the previous days and we managed to miss the rain. we then headed to castle douglas for fish and chips and a walk around the craft and antique shops.

me 'n' jonathan have discovered the joys of playing a card game we know as "floater" with a version called "the long game" that i used to play with my mam and dad on our caravan holidays at beadnell as a boy! quality.

.......i had something really important i wanted to write about yesterday and i can't remember what it was now :-(
