.......in no particular order..... we spent a night away with the lawson's in a cottage near alnwick and had lots of fun looking for the names of characters on trees from harry potter in this magical wood. we rested, ate well, swam and generally enjoyed ourselves with good company. the day we went up to alnwick we watched tony run the pier to pier... it was a strange experience wathing him do a run without me... its' never happened before but at that time my knee was still giving me lots of problems. but.... i have now ran 4 or 5 times in the last couple of weeks without problems so maybe not running for best part of 6 months has helped.

we walked around durham and took pictures for a slide show (yet to be put together....) but the rule was ....no pictures of the cathedral....

....and on another weekend we walked around the grounds of the dli museum in durham.... cheeky little shot this one... jonathan is playing golf now on a saturday which means he's now over on a sunday.... we decided today that he has a lot to learn and at the moment is more balsa woods than tiger woods....

....botanic gardens in durham... 'nuff said...

we went to an eco festival at a local church and while i was concerned it would be taken over by all the church folks and we would end up with eco the jesus way we didn't and it was a good day... luke and i played giant jenga... great fun... as a result of being there we got a quote for solar panels to heat our water but it was abit more expensive than we could stretch to which was a shame 'cos we'd love to have done it.... maybe soon

mordue (my dad) and son recorded two jim reeves tunes for my mam's 65th birthday. we did "he'll have to go" and "distant drums". my dad had problems singing along to just the guitar so we ended up having him sing along to the original (in headphones) and sing along with jim then i dropped the track out and recreated it around his vocal... turned out alright 'n' all. paulene was very pleased.... discussions of a christmas cd are on going

last week saw us all off to lumley castle to celebrate paul (christine's brother) and lesley's 25th wedding anniversary. we had sarah and alice, their daughters, stay with us for the weekend while they stayed at lumley castle and we had a lovely time... liked this surreptitious shot of sarah and auntie olive......
.....and what of other things....
* music - 2wiseguys have played a couple of open mic nights and a gig and are having lots of fun and have loads of new tunes and are recording a cd.... stephen is working on some dance/trance/techno/ (to be honest i don't know what it is... but it involves samples and loops and blips and noises and repitition) stuff and has a half hour cd ready for consumption... and he has bought some decks... what on earth a guitarist will do with decks is to be seen but as pete always says experimentation is the key.....
* planned missions - edinburgh to newcastle over 2 days on the bike (hopefully the new bike - an orbea - if it arrives in time) - working towards lands end to john o' groats on the bike next year
* family - will be holidaying in dumfries, may well have a weekend camping - and we are all doing just fine!!!
