.....7 hours later!

...different cup to last picture and it's light! but i'm sat, pretty much in the same place! it's day time and i'm tired but still got the weekend to go at before i have to think about work......

...you know what's got me vexed though??? 24 hour news... i watch it all the time and sometimes it annoys me.... i'm part of the chain but sometimes i despair. the problem as i see it is that 24 hour news is on, well... 24 hours a day and they have to make the most of each story to fill the time....

take this whole 'a' level result thing... we had it all yesterday with the people opening their results and that was fine. we had a few people who hadn't got their grades and there was talk about going through ucas clearing... all good! ....but now, today, we've got "shock horror, world in turmoil, people are still waiting to find out whether they've got a place!! we need a spokesman from the government, a spokesmen from ucas, a spokesman from a student group, students paraded infront of us"!!!!! for goodness sake it's only been 24 hours since the flippin results were published!!! "web site down, phone lines swamped, people not knowing what's going to happen to them" ....it's been 24 hours, 24 hours!!! and the reason the web site and phones are swamped is because the 24 hour news channels are inflating people's anxiety's about it so they are hitting the web site and phone lines out of desperation..... what happened when you had to write to places; send a letter?? now, i know things move on, but i don't think the government is about to fall, or the academic world fall apart! people still get stuff sorted! it's this kind of stuff that causes much of the stress in modern life ....what was it the oracle albarn said "modern life is rubbish! well not sure i agree with that totally but i think we stress ourselves out unnecessarily a bit sometimes!
