.....album 4 of 7 days of albums ....nick drake "pink moon"

...look at that there! that's nick drake in my computer....
today's album is nick drake's pink moon..... very enjoyable ....very nice to get back to listening to a man and his guitar and nothing else....i think a prefer "bryter layter" to this. it's a short album so its played through (almost) three times in the car today. and with each listen it improves as you start to pick out the words and hear the beautiful melodies. with listening to a lot of electronic music and a lot of "busy" music of late i found i needed to "retune" my ears to hear the beauty within the simplicty. you can not fault his haunting voice and or his (relatively) simple but effective guitar playing. and despite this simplicity he holds your interest. there is a sadness and yearning in his music which simply adds to the enigma that is drake.....

...been out for tea with christine and luke and christine's mam and trudy, who is a friend of christine and her mam. nodded off a few times when talk was of the soap opera's! and my word old people are hard work sometimes having an uncanny knack for the negative and seeing opportunities to complain when really there is nothing to complain about ...still... you love them through it all ;-) i had thai fishcakes followed by chicken souvlaki ...and all of that in a pub in hougton ....i didn't think they knew of such things in houghton ....but no there it was "world" food in such a place! neat.....
