....lynne ..30!! no way!

here's chris and lynne while we were out celebrating lynne's 30th birthday ...now i'm not going to make any jokes like "she doesn't look it does she? ...no more like 40" or anything like that 'cos she's lovely!! we had a great night. first surprising lynne when we met them in the court.. she had no idea we were coming out and then after a couple of drinks off to elcoto the tapas restaurant ...now you know how christine is with menus and making a choice well we eventually went for a set menu or it would have taken forever!! the night simply rolled by as it does when you are in good company and before we knew where we were at we were satiated, drunk, and heading home with chris driving ...well he'd only had 4 pints and a bottle wine (...no no that's not funny - he was stone cold sober so he could get us home). as ever our conversation covered everything but i was disappointed to find that the millers have made no further in roads on their "how many slices in a loaf" study! we await the results.

2 cds yesterday.... i had to do days 6 of 7 and 7 of 7 in one day 'cos i've got a busy saturday and won't get to listen to an album

....cd 6 of 7 the jam - compact snap. this is their greatest hits album. now i'm not normally a fan of the compilation but i couldn't miss out on this. these songs are the sound track of me growing up. when you hear weller's work with the jam in chronological order you hear a man maturing personally and musically. the writing which was always clever lyrically becomes clever musically and you hear him letting his influences, well, influence him more ...and if people don't like it he doesn't seem too bothers. and as you hear the later tracks you can hear him preparing the ground for the style council ....if i had to pick some favourites i'd go for, david watts, strange town, funeral pyre, the bitterest pill and beat surrender, oh! and all of them!

....cd 7 of 7 fat boy slim - dance bitch. essentially a mix cd including some fbs classics and some new stuff.... i love this guy ...he's my dj hero! so i'm gonna say it's good but if i was being critical when listening i was thinking the dj'ing isn't that clever but the important thing in dj'ing is song choice and he does this exceptionally well and his own productions which are great ...well it gets me going anyway ...had this one on on the way home ...got me proper ready for the weekend

....sweet
.....that's that done ...what next?
