...i think luke's tiddled!
monday the 27th is chris miller's birthday so celebrations were in order. lynne drove him all over the world (well towards stanley, and nearly into durham) before finally heading up our track, in order to confuse him as to where he was going... can you imagine his dissapointment!! "oh sh*t, it's my birthday saturday and i have to spend another bloody night with stephen and christine!' ;-0
..what a night it turned out to be. christine had put a lot of effort into the menu and we'd selected champagne and wine's for the occasion. we decided to give luke half a glass of champagne..... hmmm... now thus far the most he's ever had is a glass of bucks fizz...... the champagne hit his system and opened his already motor mouth... super charging it ....it was very very entertaining!! he never let throughout the whole meal until he crashed and his head hit his pillow around 9 o'clock.... he says he's not got a hangover but his gob is still going fifty to the dozen ...we may have opened up the flood gates!!! he was really funny though and very engaging and i was great having him on board for his first proper meal with friends where he wasn't puzzled by the whole 3 course thing ..."but i've already had my tea" he would say after the first course!
...as for the meal ....we started with eggs florentine with smoked chedder, and rocket salad - a massive hit, with crusty bread to dip in the still soft yolk! then we had twice cooked pork with roast parsnips and sweet apple red cabbage, with mushroom and potato gratin - beautiful - very impressed. and finally chocolate brownies with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream ...the choc brownie's were fab - crunchy on the outside soft on the inside - lovely ....and lots of wine!
...as for other things yesterday ...we had jonathan over ..not seen him for ages what with holidays and stuff so it was great to see him. we ended up at the park for some football and general running about and then i ran home (3 miles), which was good. a good saturday all told ....so what for sunday... well we shall see [nothing i hope! he he he]
