....millers, guitars, runners, and congas

....sat in the kitchen listening to the percussion recordings from yesterday and they sound incredible ...suddenly the electronically produced music sounds alive with someone real playing on it ...the combination is just fabulous...

so.. working backwards ...sunday was spent in the studio with karl laying down percussion all day for the acoustic and dance stuff and a great days work it was ...well that is after we spent 3 hours driving to jarrow and back (usually a 40 minute round trip) to pick him up because of all the bloody traffic as a consequence of the great north run!!

....saturday was a quiet day starting with a trip to the hairdressers, as i've already mentioned, but ending very loudly with a trip to the academy to see oceansive and... they were immense. much better than the last time i saw them when the set was a bit all over the place i thought. this performance was fabulous and can't wait for my vinyl and cd copies of the new album to arrive from germany. the crack with chris, nik, and alex was great and we finished the night with a couple of drinks in the salsa bar just up from the venue

....would tell you about the muppet couple at the gig ruining all the quiet bits, taking photo's of each other and ignoring the band in the beautiful sections, who vennart asked "are you finished updating your f***ing facebooks now" and stated quite forcefully when the guy reached over to touch his peddle board "don't you f***ing dare" ...very funny ...vennart's quips not the couple who were very unfunny!
