.....christmas part 1

...yep! that's me in a hot tub while it snows on my head! [you can see my nipples there - ooo er]

...friday we loaded up the car with all we needed to have our first christmas ...we were off to belford in northumberland for 3 nights with chris and lynne in tow! this is the second year we've done this rather than buy christmas presents for each other ...and we're doing on the worst weekend in the history of worst weekends 'cos it's snowed and snowed!!! belford was lovely in all it's snowy gloriousnees! we were welcomed by mary who owned the house we were staying in. now,,,, where the teco delivery man! stuck in the snow somewhere! so, as the 4 p.m. delivery wasn't now arriving until 11 the next morning me 'n' miller headed for the co-op for the essentials - alcohol and the stuff to make pizza's 'cos we'd taken previously prepared dough ...and off we launched ourselves into the weekend.....

.food - firday pizza's, saturday mexican, and sunday - christmas dinner with hats 'n' crackers 'n' everything
..drink - red, white, red, white, red, white, beer, red, white, red, white, cider, red, white, bucks fizz, red, white, red, white, bad head....
...dvd's - taken, the santa clause, the santa clause 2
....games - rummikub (1st chris, second lynne, third christine, 4th me), chess (honourable draw between me 'n' chris), cards, valley of the dinosaurs (or for short - dinosaurs attack in the valley of the lost alien invasion where the soldiers of mercy escape to freedom as the monster from the pit strike again)
.....extra's - chris off to see the match, walk around belford and up to the farm, hot chocolate in the farm shop, hot tub in the snow.....

altogether lots of fun... and then a snowy journey home... all back safe

....../////and now i'm back and off tomorrow and won't be going anywhere... me'n' luke headed upstairs into the studio and painted [working title "the map of the legends"] while listening to sky and the simple minds album "son's and fascination"

.....i was struck by how early simple minds is like a lot of stuff i listen too now (only very '80's) and, interestingly, i love this album now after being uninspired by it at the time [i worked backwards through the simple minds discography after getting into them after "new gold dream" and "sparkle in the rain" - much more accessible albums]
