....simple

...the solution to the current problems surrounding the snowy and icy weather is simple. no! government should not spend more money. we do not need to spend money making sure people can travel around more easily. we need to negate the need for people to need to travel as much.

//work// it is ridiculous that people leave their warm comfortable homes to go to another building often miles away to do their job when their job involves sitting behind a desk, using a computer, and talking on a phone. these people can do that from home. this takes people off the road and stops the congestion that worsens when the weather is bad. less accidents, less broken down and stuck cars.... i worked from home for two days in the recent bad weather and although i didn't have access to everything i needed (a simple piece of software would have resolved that) i was pretty effective.

//leisure// we need to start accepting that it is not a given right to travel on holiday. the planet and nature is in control. not people, not corporations, and "no" business and government should not spend millions to ensure that tourists can get to and from sunny destinations when the weather is poor. i am not against foreign travel but have to accept that if it is unsafe to fly or use the train or drive then it is unsafe. imagine to condemnation if the runways had been poorly cleared of snow and people had been killed.... unfortunately with a lot of people you're damned if you do and damned if you don't......

i accept some people need to travel and some people need to go somewhere to work but this being the solution for everyone is not the best one when there are alternatives.
