....unchristmas

....our house is positively unchristmassy (if that's even a word) at the moment despite only a week and a bit to go.... so in an attempt to start the christmas drive i have retrieved charles dickens' "the christmas books" from the classic literature section of the book shelves!! now.... don't get excited that i may, at a later date, be able to tell you how the story ends (although clearly most of us know ....bob c, eb s etc etc) because i have performed this retrieval act during at least the last four or five festive seasons..... and i don't think i've made it past page 17 on any occasion! but this year i'm starting early ......gonna watch "it's a wonderful life" too! which i try to do every year!

....why are we not christmassy? well christine has assignments due in at college and we've got all next week off. so.... we can "step into christmas" (thanks elton) next week with great gusto. our little christmas tree that has grown bigger in its pot since last year was buried in snow and ice until just a few days ago but now looks thawed out and ready to be brought in to be decorated. (none of your dead murdered trees for us ethically minded people here now ;-)) and cards have started to arrive.... we've even produced our own wrapping paper from a festive father christmas picture luke did....

....should feel very festive by the weekend after dj'ing a christmas party tomorrow night and one on saturday night!
