....the weekend of things that didn't happen

....i should have been having a very busy weekend
....tonight i was dj'ing for alison's (of alex and alison) mam and dad for their wedding anniversary but the plug was pulled last night. and that, while disappointing, was the right decision. it took me an hour of trying this morning to not get my car out of the track. i managed to move about three foot in all of that time and then christine sailed past in her little aygo!!

...so jonathan's been over once we got to pick him up and we've been outside sledging and building snowmen, which was lots if fun. at one point the snowman had an icicle willy and snowball... well... balls. and then moments later was a snowwoman with snow boobs! very creative my sons.... and no! they got no encouragement from me... they didn't! no really! they didn't!! ;-)

....and then tomorrow two wiseguys should have been playing at the wheatsheaf in benton but.. as my mam always says in conditions such as these, "is your journey really necessary". and it's not to the fair. and the roads aren't good enough to be doing anything unnecessary. we would have got paid and we would have had fun but we may not have been safe. i think in this weather common sense has to prevail. and seeing as i still haven't got my car out of the snow we may not have got there anyway.

so all of that leaves me with a day in the house tomorrow... and to be honest i don't get enough of those. so i'm going to enjoy myself cleaning and ironing... no really i will! i do like a good collection of cleaning products... and i do like the wardrobe full of ironed clothes and the house smelling and looking all clean....

.....oh and the big news, which is quite surreal given all the snow, is.... we've got tickets already for latitude festival in july next year. so we're thinking of all the fun we'll have in the sunshine while looking at the snow!
