....christine has given me the letter "h" for 2011

.....i sit at (almost) the end of new years day in my christmas pj's contemplating the year ahead, looking for my mantra and my missions ...as is tradition someone else picks the letter and i pick the words that will form my mantra... luke chose last year so this christine gives me "h"

so i'm going to go for harmonious, helpful, and holistic......

and missions.....

music - lots more. two wiseguys will release a cd and play more gigs. i have some projects in process or in my head... mine and karl's dance "side project", a mumford and sons'esque project with laura from the vc and a mad idea that involves me putting together a cd album of songs one each written with a music buddy. the idea being i come up with a list of song titles, one of my music buddies picks a title and we then write and record a song or tune around that title, either together in the studio or collaborating over a distance using something like ableton live... i think it sounds fun!

physical - well, you know, i say it every year and every year i'm determined, and this year i'm determined so i'm saying it again.... i must lose weight ...gonna get into some gym classes and i' going to start playing squash again....

family missions - big trip to florida! big trip to latitude! big trips in our new folding camper! outdoors outdoors outdoors! if christine had chosen "o" that would have been my mantra because at the moment if i could identify one thing that i want to embrace in 2011 it would be "outdoors outdoors outdoors"!! walking, running, cycling, climbing(??), forests, beaches, mountains......

conquests..... i'm going to see if i can conquer my aversion to snakes - gonna see if i can arrange to go to a zoo or something and handle some!! and i'm going to see if i can challenge my fear of heights - not figured out how to do that yet, but, i can guarantee i'm not gonna do a bungie jump or something stupid like that!!!

2011... here it comes... it's going to be great ...it really is ...on so many levels!!
