...laid back, chilled

..karl was over last night and we were being two wiseguys in the studio and a different approach was evident. lots of songs that we were pushing too hard were given a laid back vibe that worked really well and we ended up writing a new tune together with a style council weller feel and a great vocal line

i'm not one generally for writing songs with an obvious "story" but this new one definitely has ...and i like it! maybe this is a new direction for my writing. we've decided that we want to take a less rock approach to our sets and i feel that is the perfect direction. more finger picking less strumming ...should be good

we also tried our hand at playing along to a very simple drum and strings backing track with me playing guitar and singing as usual and karl playing bass! very interesting and very good... such fun! ...and red wine ...and good crack ..and a nice baked potato and beans to finish the night!
