.....thank you for the music the songs i'm singing

friday.... pitched up to the cluny 2, which has got to be one of the most awesome local venues, to see alex's band my other life and collect my free cd and photos! it was a splendid show! watching hattie murdoch use her loop pedal to create all sorts of stuff and play what seemed to be prerecorded stuff - fabulous! then my other life took to the stage after a huge build up from the intro music and they didn't disappoint. they are so slick there now. not they weren't before, to be fair, but now it's even slicker! very polished and very together. if i had one criticism it would be that they've got some great (older) songs that they don't play at the expense of playing new (equally as good - to be fair) new ones. i'd like to hear more of the familiar ones and maybe have less new ones introduced into the sets.... but hey.... they were absolutely incredible and should make waves.....

...and then it was home to watch u2 from glastonbury! oh my word! classic... i'm not even going to try and justify it 'cos you either love them or you hate bono and if you hate u2 because you hate bono then you are missing the fact that no matter how bono is off stage on stage as a band they just do it and do it better than anyone... yes anyone...

saturday was off for a dj set for albert at the morrison busty... place of my youth! it was a great night that started a little slowly but as ever the 70's stuff got the ladies on the floor... had a great night playing great music and got home very tired and very happy!

and sunday i had miller over rehearsing for his set at the next acoustic night... we got some lovely tunes for you with me playing a bit of guitar and some nice backing vocals... more music with miller please 'cos no matter what we do we have some serious fun!
