.....reflection approaches

....i find myself sat in the studio listening through the musical writing events of the year contemplating what i could put on this years circadian rhythms annual cd and discovering that i have absolute shed loads of unfinished stuff.... but... some absolutely top notch (well interesting at least) stuff ....makes me want to open a bottle of red and actually try and finish some stuff.

there's lots of half baked electronic ideas and some nearly finished stuff as well as one or two finished items... we shall see. what there is lots of is two wiseguys stuff 'cos it's been a bumper year with loads of gigs and loads of new ideas!

what has happened of late other than music? well.... before i tell you that i have to tell you about the annual johnny vipond "all stars" gig at the rowing club! it was as ever a blast and a lot of fun and it might lead to some other stuff which would be great. maybe covers is where i need to be off to... chris miller my friend and ever observant critic said, after hearing me belt out dad rock covers for an hour that it was interesting that i'd spent all this time doing acoustic stuuf when clearly belting them out with a full band was where i should be at ...sound advice as ever.

we been away with the millers as well. all four of them - chris, lynne and (yet to be born) twin one and twin two.... we holed up in a cottage on the northumberland coast, kindly looked after by the national trust, in amongst the sand dunes.... yes, literally, in amongst the sand dunes. we hardly left the cottage except for a couple of jaunts onto the beach to fly kites. the windy weather was perfect - a video will appear on you tube sometime soon. it was splendidly relaxing; watching christmas films, eating mince pies, having christmas lunch on the sunday.... lovely times.
