coffee and blueberry and maple syrup pancakes.... nice... let me tell you some stuff x

life/work balance
**************
how's this going? i think it's going well. i feel less stressed when at work and relaxed at home. i think that's how this is meant to work! i'm finding time to swim on a lunch time once a week (always a good barometer of how balanced things are for me!). i'm getting out and exercisig, i'm reading, me and christine are managing to watch some 'box set' tv on a night (currently some six feet under interspersed with mrs. brown's boys - an interesting combination to say the least!) without (just about) falling asleep! i feel i have time. i get too stressed about things that are coming later in the week or next week, or whatever, so find myself now only contemplating what i really need to and letting the later things sort themselves out. but, in return for this, i feel as though i'm achieving more. is it simply human nature to e wanting to have things "on the go" all the time or is that just me? i'd decided to not do anything musically for the first few months of the year but have found that i have dj'd, started recording an album with my 2wiseguys counterpart mr rouleau, and have a gig next week.... but.... have still managed to undertake what i wanted to do when i was meant to be not doing these things... now.... that's success!

disorder/order
***********
out of the disorder of our house has come order. we decided to decorate and somewhere in that decided that we should swap bedrooms with luke! so, luke's bedroom was emptied into every room in the house (his room must have been like the tardis!) and we have successfully and, to be fair, with the minimum of fuss, decorated his bedroom in our purple colours and 'tis now our room, and our room in his choice of colour (red) and that has become his room. both rooms look great. he wants a grown up room now and a grown up room he has. complete with an almost double bed and very adult looking desk for his computer and x-box. the rest of the house has order returning to it and other rooms are now earmarked for a face lift. but only after the spare room is sorted as you can't now get into it for all of the stuff from both bedrooms that we didn't want to put back in there! it will be fun... oh no... hang on... that's not the word i was looking for....

stimulation
*********
mental stimulation is coming from reading "one day" by david nicholls. he was responsible for the third series of cold feet among other things, i guess. don't quite know how to describe it really but nick hornby says it's "big, absorbing, smart"... and to be fair he would 'cos it's just like his books... so if you've read hornby you'll know what to expect if you buy it.... it's really good and have caught myself laughing out loud on many occasions! good thing! i'm reading this courtesy of sarah who recommended it. i've been recommending her music she's recommended me books... cool... that works. i haven't read any fiction in a long time, save, a half hearted attempt at "the girl with the dragon tattoo" which canme to nothing.

i'm listening to northern soul, the decemberists (like very early rem), and submotion orchestra (bit of jazz tinged dubstep for ya - well that's what i hear!)... all good!

going to get on no with more sorting and organising... if you call in, be careful ...you might get tidied up.....

oh and one last thing.... as i ran down from lumley in the dark with the lights of chester-le-street before me my phone urgently "noised" at me and informed me that there was a whole new person in the world.... pete and j had given this planet maiina peg.... and no doubt we will meet her soon ...i'm sure as i stared at the street lights in the distance they spelled out the word "beautiful".
