....holiday task achieved!

....after the winter weather destroyed our fence we decided that, given the windy position of our house, another fence would be pure folly!... so we went for a little log roll edge... how sweet. now doing jobs like this together usually ends up with me and christine having a big fight. the phrase "too many chiefs and not enough indians" comes to mind! so roles were clearly designated before starting. christine was in charge of pebble removal and then redistribution, i was responsible for fence removal and installation of faux log role panels! easy.

....."is this not something where you would use a string to mark a line so we get them all straight", said christine....
...."ah yes!" said stephen, "if you're one of those blokes that can't do this kind of thing by eye!"
....i therefore employed the "looks a bit like a dog's hind leg" technique to install the panels. from assorted angles the finished product looks good, from other angles - not so good....
"i had to follow the line of the field", i protested....
"it'll look ok once the pebbles are back down" christine tried to reassure herself....
"rustic is all the rage these days" i encouraged!
