....an officer and a gentleman
well what a massive weekend!
we started off, on friday, with a three courser with the millers cooked by my good self which consisted of a vegetable and goats cheese stack for a starter, chicken tagine for main and grilled plums with mascerpone and cinnamon biscuits for pud! all very nice!
saturday saw two wiseguys being filmed by local video good guy gary smith. despite fates best attempts to scupper our plans (stolen batteries and poor weather) we managed to shoot all of the footage required for gambler.... we're thinking a split screen 60's feel which would really suit what we do (download gambler at www.twowiseguys.co.uk) ....and while you are the web site you can check out the first of several photos we're going to be using that jonathan took for us in a nearby wood! a budding photographer in the making if ever I saw one!
saturday night was then home made pizza's with the peck's. we were at ruth and nick's wedding between christmas and new year and this was the first time we'd seen them since and to be honest the first time we'd properly met nick... and what a great night we had... it was really really late before we knew where we were and the conversation was great an aplenty..... now nick has recently (not sure what the word is so i'm going to use "graduated from") graduated from sandhurst and is in fact an officer of the british army! so when he said "I'm going for a run in the morning but don't know where to go!" i should have just kept quiet!! ;-) "I'll go out with you" I said.... so....
sunday morning and off we went ....an officer and a gentleman! was a cracking run with excellent conversation and it flew over... and i think i did myself justice up against the armies finest ;-) his fitness and lighter frame meant he sailed up the hills but on the flat i did good!
hills - army 2 civvies 0
flat - honorable draw!
and then sunday night - two wiseguys on Spark FM - we had a fabulous time with Carl Hutch and the team and effectively took ove rthe middle part of the show (we were only expecting to play a couple of songs!) - we played three songs live, and Carl played the recorded version of "your eyes" the b-side of gambler. we were challenged to write a song about choc chips cookies and rose to the challenge admirably! we'll post a podcast of the event soon! A big thank you to everyone at Spark!
"you can tell by the size of my hips that I love those chocolate chips!"
...and then ....collapse ....and sleep!
