...they can keep doing that all night for me
..thought i'd best check in before i settle down for the day with carl sagan and his iconic book cosmos.
spent last night in some discomfort on the sofa - for two reasons
the england game and my operation site
first the england game. many a time as the italians shot from outside the box did chris and I (for the millers were abundant) say they can keep doing that all night for me! but as the reality of the presenting situation dawned upon us we guessed that the inevitable may happen. but come on - let's be proud of them. it constantly amazes me when sports people work hard and we, the public, are told they are 5th or 6th best in the world, we are disappointed at that. take andy murray the great british hope for wimbledon (scottish! you say! i don't think so! british!). he might not have won any of the majors (is that the word tennis fans?) but he always up there in the top tennis players in the world. i for one would be happy to be in the top one hundred of anything in the world never mind the top 10. so come on, despite everything, get behind the football team, get behind andy murray, and get behind our athletes at the olympics. they may not win but they will be there representing us!
secondly - my operation site. after a fairly good saturday and half of sunday i got myself a bit excited. for what must have been a whole 2 minutes i stood in the kitchen and prepared veg for the sunday lunch and dealt with the chicken. and then, because it started raining, i went into the conservatory and closed the doors myself (i know!), no support or anything! and as a consequence was wracked in pain and discomfort all night. it appears i'm not as far on in my recovery as i had thought.
so today... the couch, the book, and the tennis - seriously i'm going to be 25 stone before i'm back on my feet! (i'm sure i can have fun planning my recovery exercise program at some point..... maybe in a week or two (and that's just the planning! lol!)
