what a weekend this has been. after a busy week at work i picked alex up at about 7 on friday night and headed off to leeds. we arrived after an uneventful journey filled with good chat at the premier inn. we deposited our bags and then headed out to walk into town. half an hour or so we found ourselves at the venue realising we had been there before when pete played in his then band white boys for gay jesus. on the bill that night were a band pete had raved about vessels. and here we are now at the same venue. pete is in vessles and they've recorded two albums in the usa and now are moving into a more electronic sound. are we ready for this? well... yes. it's not that far removed from where they were but with less guitars. i've always felt there were common themes between post rock and techno. rhythmic, repetitive, crescendos and drops... it's all there. they clearly looked like they were enjoying themselves on stage despite some technical issues. good gig.... then back to the premier inn.

our sleep was disturbed through the night by the couple next door arguing but generally we were rested and awoke late the next morning. alex seemed to be labouring under the impression he was in an actual hotel rather than a premier inn by wondering if there was room service! seriously! and if they did late checkouts! i mean for goodness sake! he's clearly used to more upmarket establishments!

i headed out for take-out coffee while he sorted himself out and using the starbucks app on my iphone was effectively guided to the nearest coffee emporium. i loaded up a starbucks card with some cash and left with two coffees. it was a fresh bracing walk back and after coffee we checked out and headed for a near-by guitar warehouse come shop. i was inspired by the array of electric guitars and am currently working on funding a new purchase! then off to tgi fridays even though it was saturday, as observed by @boonhawk, for a burger and fries and then the journey home.

saturday night was all about pizzas! pizza's on a saturday - whatever next - that's our friday night meal! it's great to go places but lovely to settle down at home with the family, wine, and pizza.

sunday saw jonathan over and the inception of his new jjmordue photography web site - destined for great things maybe.....
