.....back to normality
...hey there! can't believe that my 3 week christmas break is over! it's been great but i remain more convinced than ever that activity is good for you. or maybe it's routine that's good for you? but either way lounging around, eating and drinking whenever you want, and having a sleep most afternoons (!!) is not generally the best way to be going on! i guess if i didn't work then i would establish a routine of sorts. clearly the fact it's christmas and new year changes what we do. i couldn't eat and drink the same things every day that i have over christmas (but would be willing to give the afternoon sleep a try!) but interestingly even though i have had an afternoon sleep i have still found myself tired! this is why i conclude that inactivity is not good for us human animals!
so it will be good to get back to a routine.
christmas has been a feast in other ways - not just in a food way. we caught up with gaffney family in the run up to christmas and then with the clegg family post christmas. it was great to catch up. we then got to see the prudhoe's with lots of people we were involved with back in the youthwork day. that was a lovely afternoon with the house full of lovely people and their kids. i had a great time in the studio helping them play drums and make techno noises on the keyboards!
the post christmas period has seen me help paul stainthorpe out with his 12 days of christmas challange. i ran 4 of them with him; boxing day, the run to the botanic gardens, new years day, and the final run from drum industrial estate to his home. this was a great cause - raising money for the percy hedley foundation and keeping (a little) in shape over the break!

and today saw me have my second pot of activia! no difference (!!) yet but i bet those good bacteria are getting to work in my gut right now!! read more here
so back to work tomorrow and straight onto a course PG Certificate in Education (or something like that!!) and then the first rehearsal of the new year tomorrow night with my musical partner in crime mr. rouleau!
