....just not had the time

....i have to kind of look up in the photographs 'cos if i don't you get my multiple chins full on ;-)

work has been busy but in a nice way. been marking most of today. i'm full of my own self importance you know! (oh you knew!??!!) i love sitting in my study with my tiffany lamp on illuminating just the desk with the rest of the room and my dusty book shelves cast in a half glow pondering the academic value of peoples writing. now i wouldn't want you to think i was enjoying some egotistical power trip or anything..... ;-) no honestly i have to say i really enjoy the marking (strangely). i just love words and sentences and people making sense of things... learning is wonderful! for me it's not about being academically excellent it's about broadening your world view. education is great. and the interesting part is i learn so much from reading peoples assignments! fabulous!

the other thing i've enjoyed is visiting students on placements. when you work in any sector i guess you focus on the bit that you do and often (in my experience) fail to realise the vast breadth of the social work profession you are involved in. it's huge! and i've particularly enjoyed visiting the voluntary agencies that do a huge amount of "coal face" work! brilliant!
