Who's been sleeping in peg's room?

So the day of the epic mission to Leeds began so that I could hook up with Pete and witness some music at the British Wildlife Festival. It started with the metro from Sunderland to Newcastle and being offered, for the sum of £3, an all day travel pass by a fella who had been using it to, well, travel all day. Cheaper than buying a new one I thought but with the uneasy feeling I was being fleeced. But it all turned out fine. Have faith in human nature Stevie boy!

The train journey to Leeds was pleasant and uneventful and I managed to get some dementia related reading in. I found myself in Leeds in Costa after getting myself close to where I was meeting Pete - thank you iMaps you are a thing of wonder.

I ventured nearer to the meeting point and with a little time left to kill spotted the Templar Hotel on Templar Street. Fuelled with memories of Dan Brown novels and caffeine I thought I'm going to have me a pint in there! On entering I lowered the average age of the clientele by about 20 years. The gathered throng were watching something reminiscent of Rugby on the tele and I'm sure some of them were women.... I think!

I found Pete in The Social - a lovely new bar with some great ales and the joyous conversation and celebration began . Taking in a little (literally) Thai food and then a pizza slice at the Belgrave (I think) we headed for the BWF for a little light entertainment and then home to bed....  Happy indeed with our lot and a whole other day and night to go at!
