.....weekend fun and games

'twas a busy but very good weekend!
Friday: Started the day at work on my day off but then hit my stride after lunch at the mercy of Trevor's healing hands. Trevor has been manipulating me now every few weeks for about the last 6 months. Sports massage is the future. He's eradicated my knee problems, improved my flexibility, and improved my back. Trevor is indeed a star. This adventure was followed by afternoon tea at Shincliffe Garden Centre with Tony, Lorraine, and Francesca .....and Luke. How you can be off school with a bad stomach and manage afternoon tea is beyond me ;-) but it was day 2 and he was on the mend ....and he didn't eat it all so we'll give him that. Alex Main then turned up on the evening to add his flavour to the new stephen j. mordue album by way of his bass playing. Didn't get around to recording but was left very excited by what he was doing. He's off to finalise the lines and then come back to record them! He's a star as well! Just like Trevor but in a different way!

Saturday: Nethermind is an unofficial Mincraft event hosted (this is the second year) at Northumbria University's Students Union ....and sorry but it was dreadful! Alright Luke is maybe a year or two old for this now but still we fancied a look. It might have been interesting but in all of the seminars we tried to enjoy we couldn't hear what was being said as in both of the rooms we went into the general noise level was too high and the PA system wasn't doing the job. But equally problematic was the 'panels' who were on the stage didn't appear to have done any prep in terms of what they might want to say on their chosen subject. So after what felt like only an excruciating few minutes they resorted to questions from the floor and their answers were simply embarrassing and didn't really offer anything. Anyway, the younger kids seemed to be enjoying it. But it seemed simply to be an opportunity to sell merchandise to tempted kids and fraught parents. We ate food in busy Wetherspoons which was lovely - nice to be out with my boy and then heading for Mam's to pass on Mother's day gifts and a card! Very good.

Sunday: Mother's Day. We took Christine to Frankie and Benny's for Egg's Benedict! Ever since it's opened - it's literally a five minute walk away - we've threatened to go for breakfast and Christine has wanted to have the Egg's Benedict - so that's what we did. And then... we just chilled at home - ending the day with a bottle of prosecco ....very decadent! But very lovely!
