The problem is you don't get the benefit until the end!
...when you need to get a screw out that's stuck tight, screw it in a bit and then it will screw out! Well who would have known! Luke! Turns out been a farmer comes with lots of helpful tips for ya' Dad!
I've been reading and thinking a lot about motivation (and am always reading and thinking about productivity) and the problem with getting stuff done is always, for me at least, making a start. Making a starts the hardest part - as I'm fond of saying!!
So I had a couple of tasks I wanted to do today and they are done. How!? Well it seems obvious really. I just started doing them and then... kept going.... and then they were finished. Now to some people this will be no great revelation but for those of us prone to procrastinating this has almost miracle status. Let me tell you again.... I had something to do.... I started doing it.... and then it was done! Amazing! Give it a try!
So what are you putting off doing!? You know the thing that I find really does work the best for me..... I write it in my calendar. Even if I don't intend doing it then I still write it in where's there's a gap. And sometimes when I get to that date and time I actually do the thing and sometimes I move it to the next available time (and then have a snooze on the couch). But, by writing it down, I have given myself a call to action, and often the thing gets done when I get to it in my calendar and things (I think! Ask Christine!) always get done sooner than they would have!? Easy!
Note it - Do it!
