Re-engage

I started writing this blog (more like a diary for myself really) back on the 19th December 2007. That's amazing! over 13 years ago. I was reminded of it last night in a conversation with Peter and reminded that I thought that Pete was the only one who probably used to read it I may be wrong! And I started scrolling back through it and it was an amazing journey - a wonderful record that straddles the very personal - the very opinionated - and the very banal..... but all of it amazing to me as the life it was bout was mine.

So, I thought I must start doing this again. I haven't really  stopped as I do journal and write in other places but not hear for a long time. Although not as long as long ago as I thought.. But it has been a long time since I have written here consistently.

It might have been good to have recorded events of recent years. What a time not to be journalling. My thoughts on the COVID pandemic, Boris Johnson, and Brexit (as they unfolded at least) may go with me to the grave - it's maybe just as well. Those 3 things are still with us so may be commented on.

Anyway what of recent times.

Trip to Scotland which ended with the camper van breaking down - but still an awesome trip - there are notes in my travel journal.

England men's football team through to the final of a major championship for the first time since 1966!

I'm playing Chess and reading Philosophy and listening to Jazz and becoming more and more pretentious on a daily basis!

Since I last wrote here I have published two books (I see I was in the throws of writing the first one when I last blogged) and the training I do for Local Authorities on self-care and productivity has gone stellar!

Over the last few days I have made a spreadsheet of all of my books - not a waste of time at all - quite a therapeutic exercise and quite intriguing. I can see my interests over the years shifting in the books I have and can place myself in the timeframe when I bought particular books easily. Music has the same effect - I think we all feel that. It takes you back.

Reading: Rumi - Selected Poems

Listening to: Richie Havens - Mixed Bag
