Saturday 10th July 2021
I'm in the kitchen! I don't often unplug the laptop and venture out of the office but as we move towards out and about more it looks like Christine and I need to reinstate our Saturday or Sunday morning diary checks. Nothing like being organised.
Yesterday I had a lovely relaxing day - my last day on holiday (excluding the weekend) before a return to work next week. I spent most of the morning in Costa with Michelle (Dias). Michelle was a student on the social work programme and has just recently graduated. It was a lovely catch up and I left fuelled with coffee and cake with a bottle of rather nice wine and a lovely card. Michelle will go far ....and ...she wants to learn to play guitar so I have offered my services. I love it when people take up an instrument - it's such a great stress buster and reliever of tension.
In the afternoon I had a sleep while 'watching' Wimbledon ...well you know - got to be done.
And then in the evening with our usual Friday night Pizza's (Prep album choice Alainis Morrisette - Jagged Little Pill) we watch a film with one of my fav actors Hugh Laurie in called Mr. Pip. Based on a trued story it weaved together elements of Dickens' Great Expectations with the story of a village in a 'war' zone where the war was over copper. Not a comfortable watch but brilliant screenplay and acting. Definitely worth a watch.
