Ignite my fire
Here we go. I used to love keeping this blog. If you stumble across this it's much more personal I suppose than my other musings on line. It's definitely a 'dear diary' scenario situation.
I'm not going to recap the intervening period of time since I last blogged here - I'm just going to start again - and I'm going to make this very much a diary of events and thoughts.
So, today, Thursday 13th October 2022 sees me having just spent much of the last few days celebrating Christine's 60th birthday! 60! I mean 60! When did this happen to us. When did we get to this age. I suppose this age is still young these days but being 20 or 30 feels a long way off. And in some ways good. 'Youth is wasted on the young', Oscar Wilde said. I dont' wholeheartedly agree with that but I see where he's coming from. I could have made much more of the early years knowing what I know now. But then again it's all about the journey isn't it.
So the weekend saw us in Wales with the family - everyone minus my mam and dad who weren't up to the trip. Not that they are ill or anything it would just have been a lot to ask of them at 78 and 80 respectively. Well, that's how they felt anyway. Yesterday was the actual day and it was a low key affair. We walked the dog and had breakfast at Costa. Then we walked the dog again in the afternoon after my mam and dad visited - and we did this via Fram Ferment - our local pub and purveyor of fine craft ale. We concluded the night with a curry and a visit from Jonathan. All good!
Today has seen me working freelance delivering two 'training' sessions - one of Difficult Conversations and one on Working From Home. Both received very well - great feedback. Apparently I have a great Radio 2 voice! I see this as a huge compliment and it leads me to think i should do something about recording guided meditation. I've prepared for a presentation in the morning to Sunderland City Council's Children's Services for Mental Health Awareness week on Thriving. Tonight an online get together with gareth! Always good!
